Last Saturday, 15 July, 23 KIESELMANN runners went to the starting line at the Kraichgau CityCup 2017 in Bretten. 3 KIESELMANN kids aged 8 to 14 also raced.
The KIESELMANN racers met at the Brettener Simmelturm in perfect weather to receive their start numbers. The KIESELMANN kids ran at 4:45 pm on the 800-metre track. Marlon Reinmuth from the KIESELMANN Kids Team received 6th place in his age group.
At 5:15 pm, the KIESELMANN kids and youth up to U16 ran on the 1600-metre course. Jonas Stezelberger from the KIESELMANN Team had first place securely in his pocket for his age group - since he was the only runner in the 2002 group. Maurice Reinmuth also made it into the top ten wearing a red KIESELMANN Kids T-Shirt, securing 8th place in his age group.
Together with 350 other participants, 16 KIESELMANN runners competed in the 5-kilometre run. Michael Becker, an apprentice cutting machine operator, sprinted through the finish line as the best KIESELMANN runner. He was happy about receiving 2nd place in his age group with a time of 22.04 minutes. Valentin Rigo also mastered the 5k as the second-best runner in his age group. The KIESELMANN women dominated several age groups. Both Caroline Pötzl and Isolde Dohle passed the finish as the best runner in their age group.
The longest distance of the day, the 10-kilometre route, started at 7:00 pm. 7 KIESELMANN runners participated. The best result was achieved by Dirk Vogler from plant engineering. He just missed the top 5 with a time of 46.05 minutes.
We would like to congratulate all the KIESELMANN runners on their great results - and the great mood in the team.
